Who We Are
Seed Thrift and Credit Society is a non-profit organization registered in June 2025 with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Sierra Leone as a Company Limited by Guarantee. We are committed to advancing entrepreneurial education, economic empowerment, sociocultural development, women’s rights, access to healthcare services, and climate resilience across communities in Sierra Leone.
We mobilize and generate seed money also known as seed funding or seed capital to support communities and women entrepreneurs through accessible lending opportunities. In addition, we provide training, mentorship, coaching, and financial literacy programs that help women and girls establish and grow sustainable businesses. Our work also includes promoting women’s rights to free and affordable lifesaving health services.
Seed Thrift and Credit Society employs an evidence-based approach that enables real-time exchange of information, expert advice, and business insights to enhance access to financial capital, farming inputs, entrepreneurship opportunities, and social well-being.
We use a range of community engagement strategies to inform women and girls about financial and business services, while strengthening their capacity to access seed capital for agribusiness and enterprise development.
Our activities are designed to empower communities particularly women and girls while supporting the Government of Sierra Leone and development partners in the fight against poverty. We focus on improving financial literacy, nurturing a culture of saving, facilitating access to seed capital, enhancing healthcare access, and promoting climate-resilient livelihood opportunities.
